The Empire of the Southern Star is a chapter of the Belegarth Medieval Combat Society located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. We're a community of diverse individuals who share a passion for live-action combat, immersive storytelling, and forging lasting friendships. We fight with foam covered weapons and wear medieval or fantasy themed garb. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or brand new to the world of foam fighting, you'll find a welcoming and supportive environment. We strive to foster an atmosphere of respect and fairness, with a strong emphasis on sportsmanship, honor, and camaraderie. The Empire is more than just combat - our realm encourages participants to develop rich characters with captivating backstories, adding depth and immersion to our battles.

Join us for fighting practice every Saturday afternoon at South Lakes Park in Denton, TX! No experience, equipment, or money required, just show up and we'll teach you how to fight. Not interested in combat? Just come hang out with us!
Craft!

We make a variety of medieval style crafts, such as chain mail, leather armor, hand embroidery, and machine sewing. Want to learn how to make something? Just ask! We host different craft days throughout the year to teach people how to build their own foam weapons, sew their own garb, and craft their own armor.

Travel with us to day events a few hours away, or week-long events across the country to battle hundreds of other fighters! Strategize on a thousand person battle field, lurk in the shadows in a game of assassins, compete for glory in tournaments, venture off on quests, or party deep into the night. Escape from reality into a fantasy world of your own creation, make amazing memories, and develop life-long friendships.
